ASX Today – Facebook and Amazon Report Positive Earnings

Here is today’s morning wrap up for Thursday 30th April

US Exchange Overnight

The S&P 500 climbed 2.75 percent to a new high, while the NASDAQ gained 0.22 percent and the Dow Jones gained 0.71 percent. So far this year, Wall Street has had a great year; the S&P 500 is up 12% in 2021, while the NASDAQ is up 9%. For live prices visit our Live Tracker here

ASX Today

The Australian stock market is expected to grow after Wall Street closed in the green following strong earnings reports from tech stocks such as Facebook and Amazon.

Iron Ore

The price of iron ore, Australia’s most valuable export, is still on the rise according to Market insider the commodity saw a +0.29% to a total of US$179.31

Brent Crude OIl

WTI crude oil is up +1.29% percent to US$68.56 per barrel, according to Bloomberg


The spot gold price is up +1.14% percent to US$1,773.72 per ounce, according to CNBC. down from its 1 month high of US$1793.79 per ounce


For the first time in a decade, Copper broke through the $10,000 barrier before reversing its gains. On the London Metal Exchange, benchmark copper hit a high of US$10,008. According to CommSec reports, the metal finished 0.1 percent higher at US$9,889 per tonne.
