ASX Today: rise & shine – Dow rallies as Brent Crude Oil hits $76 USD/BBL
Here is today’s morning wrap up:
The Dow Jones moved higher friday with a +0.44% move or +152.820 points. The S&P 500 gained also, moving +0.75% or +32.40 points. Based on technology, the Nasdaq gained overnight, closing with a +0.81% gain or -+116.949 points.
US economic data:
In June, nonfarm payrolls (employment) increased by 850,000, the largest in ten months (survey: +720,000). However, the jobless rate increased from 5.8% to 5.9% in June (survey: 5.6%), while the participation rate remained at 61.6 percent (survey: 61.7 percent). In May, the trade deficit grew from US$69.1 billion to US$71.2 billion (survey: -US$71.3 billion). In May, factory orders increased by 1.7 percent (survey: +1.6 percent).

- Tesla (TSLA) moving +0.14% or +0.98 dollars,
- Apple (AAPL) moving +1.96% or +2.69 dollars,
- Amazon (AMZN) moving -2.27% or -78.01 dollars per share,
- Microsoft (MSFT) moving +2.23% or +6.05 dollars per share.
This morning, the Australian stock market is projected to start Monday the same. The ASX 200 is predicted to open the day flat today, according to the latest SPI futures.

The S&P/ASX 200 rose 43 points, or 0.59 percent, to 7,308.6. The rise pushed the index slightly higher the week, up 0.01 percent. The moves were triggered by overnight gains in US stock markets.
The energy sector led the gains today, up 1.8 percent, thanks to a 2.4 percent increase in oil prices overnight after OPEC+ failed to reach an agreement on oil supply. Consumer discretionary and industrial stocks both increased by 1.3 percent. Consumer staples declined 0.03 percent, followed by IT, which fell 0.1 percent.
