ASX Today: rise & shine – positive start as Dow continues higher

Good morning!

Here is today’s morning wrap up:

US Exchange

US stock indexes gained moderately on Monday to new highs ahead of crucial earnings reports and the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision. However, home builders were hampered by a drop in new home sales. Chinese stocks on the New York Stock Exchange tumbled after Beijing imposed new regulations on private tutoring and online education enterprises last week. Alibaba Group’s stock has dropped 7.2 percent this year.

The Dow Jones moved higher with a +0.24% move or +82.76 points. The S&P 500, moving +0.24% or +10.51 points. Based on technology, the Nasdaq was up overnight, closing with a +0.025% gain or +3.72 points.


ASX Today

This morning, the Australian stock market is projected to start Tuesday higher. The ASX 200 is predicted to open the day 19 points or 0.26 percent higher today, according to the latest SPI futures.
