ASX Today: rise & shine – US markets bounce back
Here is today’s morning wrap up:
Positive earnings results and stronger economic data weighed on US stock markets on Tuesday, countering concerns about the spread of the delta coronavirus type. Energy and healthcare stocks led the market higher, while Apple shares jumped 1.3 percent. After improving their annual revenue predictions, Under Armour and Ralph Lauren stock jumped 6.2 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively.
The Dow Jones moved higher with a +0.80% move or +278.240 points. The S&P 500, moving +0.82% or 35.990 points. Based on technology, the Nasdaq was up overnight, closing with a +0.55% gain or +80.226 points.
This morning, the Australian stock market is projected to start Wednesday higher. The ASX 200 is predicted to open the day 9 points or 0.12 percent higher today, according to the latest SPI futures.
